No, you can pick them up from and return them to any docking point, David. It is expensive if you're going to spend 5 hours in the saddle non-stop. But frankly, if you're that keen a cyclist you've probably got your own bike. The problem is that people look at the hire charges and think "gosh, £50 for 24 hours, that's really expensive", without really thinking how they'd actually use one.For instance, you might have a day out like this- - hire a bike in Wandsworth, cycle down to the river, dock the bike and have a walk (20-25 minutes - free) - pick up another bike, cycle to a restaurant in Notting Hill Gate, dock the bike, have lunch (40 minutes - £1) - pick up another bike and then cycle back to Wandsworth (50 minutes - £1)So with your £2 daily charge fee, you've spent £4. Obviously TFL are doing a really bad job at marketing them to Londoners, if they're perceived to be expensive
