Ten months have passed since 20 year old Darcy was killed in the carpark
Police will be handing out leaflets and engaging the local community in the Fulham area where the victim was believed to have contacts.
On 1st May 2009, police were called at approx. 14:30hrs re: a man shot on Heathfield Road, SW18. 20 year old Darcy Austin-Bruce from Fulham, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. Darcy is thought to have been a visitor on his way into the prison.
A man wearing a crash helmet approached him and fired shots from a handgun - he then ran a short distance and jumped on the back of a scooter being driven by a second man, also in a crash helmet. It made off from Alma Terrace onto Trinity Road, SW18.
An incident room was opened under DCI Gordon Allison (Trident).
Officers are appealing for anyone who knew Darcy and may have information about the murder to come forward.
"This is a family appeal to anyone that has any information on the murder of a beautiful son brother and friend. Darcy was loved.
Our son Darcy Austin-Bruce was brutally murdered in cold blood outside Wandsworth prison. Darcy was a loving kind generous and thoughtful young man who always made us laugh and smile. You never expect these terrible things to happen to you or someone in your family, but it does and it is devastating. And as a family we are just existing. Every day the pain is as fresh as the day he was first taken from us.
No parent should see their child lying in a mortuary, or see and feel the bullets holes in his lifeless body, a life that was taken away by an evil monster and his accomplices.
Darcy was our world. We are a very loving family and Darcy's murder leaves us with such a void of unimaginable magnitude.
Please help us to get justice for our child and for his sisters, who have now lost their only brother. Anyone out there, mothers, fathers, children, friends who have any information no matter how small, please, please feel our pain and help us. This has destroyed our family"
