Wandsworth Property Sales - July 2012
Average price of homes sold during month one of highest ever
During the month of July 2012, 133 homes changed hands in the SW18 post code area at an average price of £594,015 according to figures from the Land Registry.
This is one of the highest monthly price averages on record.
Eight of those properties sold for over £1,000,000, with the most expensive of those being Baltimore House on Juniper Drive which changed hands for £2,300,000.
The July data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price rise of 0.3% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £162,900.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 6.5% to £367,785 over the same period.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during May 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales increased by 2 per cent to 50,083 compared with 48,974 in May 2011.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in May 2012 increased by 107 per cent to 562 from 271 in May 2011.
