Wandsworth Property Sales - June 2012
House on Trinity Road becomes the sixth most expensive in SW18
During the month of June 2012, 134 homes changed hands in the SW18 post code area at an average price of £529,271 according to figures from the Land Registry.
This sustains the recovery of the average price level over the half a million pound mark that was seen last month.
Eight of those properties sold for over £1,000,000, with the most expensive of those going for £3,830,000 on Trinity Road. This becomes the sixth highest price ever paid for a home in the Wandsworth area.
The June data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows an annual price rise of 0.9% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £161,777.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 6.3% to £359,476 over the same period.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during April 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 19 per cent to 41,244 compared with 50,721 in April 2011.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in April 2012 decreased by 43 per cent to 468 from 825 in April 2011.
