Throughout the winter, Nine Elms is offering residents free weekly arts and crafts classes, dance classes, walks, workshops and other cultural events. From family events to homework clubs to walks for over 60s, there’s something for every age group.

Mondays at the Rose

Start your week with a FREE social meet-up at the ROSE community clubroom every Monday until March. New this autumn, Mondays At The ROSE will run through the colder months providing an open-all-day community space for local residents living in the Savona Estate, Patmore Co-operative and Carey Gardens. Drop in for a complimentary coffee, spend some quiet time making something arty or doing some work, or you could catch a film with a cup of tea.

Free art classes

Learn something new or get creative this autumn with a choice of local classes open to everyone living in Battersea and Nine Elms.

Organised for the local community by Wandsworth Council, all classes run for 10 weeks from the last week in September to the end of the first week in December. You can come along to a class any week, don’t worry if you didn’t join at the start.

All classes are free, so book in advance to guarantee your place. Do say if you are unable to make it so that your place can be offered to someone else instead.

Arts for families

Saturdays 10.30am-11.30am until 10 December

Designed for children aged 3-8 years old, this arts class develops crafts and art at low, or no, cost. The classes can take up to 10 families, maximum two children per family.

Social dance classes

Tuesdays 7pm-8pm until 29 November

Get in step with beginners’ Salsa classes for residents aged over 18. All fitness levels welcome

TikTok dance workshops

Thursdays 5pm-6pm until 8 December

Have a bit of fun and get moving to the latest dance moves on TikTok to boost your health and wellbeing. If you’re 13-18 years old come along to learn current dance trends.

Walk and talk

Fridays 11am -12noon until 7 December

Join a group for guided walks of the area, each week exploring a different theme and a different route. Groups of up to 20, open to residents aged 60+. Various locations
