To celebrate National Pet Month, Southside Shopping Centre is hosting free dog agility classes this weekend (29-30 April).

Dog’s visiting the centre on Saturday and Sunday will be able to put their paws to the test in a free agility session, giving owners the chance to teach their dogs new tricks as they weave through poles, run through tunnels and jump through hoops.

This weekend’s agility taster sessions are being led by Perfect Dog, a professional dog training centre in Wandsworth and will be available from 11am until 3pm throughout the weekend. Pooches of all shapes and sizes are welcome to have a free go on the agility course which will be situated inside the centre next to Waitrose.

Southside Shopping Centre is now welcoming well behaved pups inside its mall, as the centre turns dog friendly.

Ahead of its first ever dog-friendly open day, the centre is giving dog owners, and their four-legged friends, a unique VIP (Very Important Pet) view of all the dog friendly places they can visit during a day trip to Southside.

The ‘dog’s eye’ video, filmed at the Wandsworth shopping centre, features Kenji, a 1-year-old black Miniature Schnauzer who belongs to Carl, exploring the retail destination at his leisure.

The dog’s eye view video sees the curious pup padding around the centre, stopping off for a quick Puppuccino at Black Sheep Coffee, before meeting other local canine companions at BrewDog for a ‘pawty’, coupled with doggy delicacies including Brewski’s Woof & Brew, a specially brewed beer for dogs.

What’s more, Black Sheep Coffee will be offering all pooches who pay them a visit during the last weekend in April complimentary treats and BrewDog will be satisfying their taste buds with a Brewski’s Woof & Brew priced at £1.99 if you also buy a beer made for humans.

Pieter Strömbeck, Centre Director at Southside Shopping Centre, said, “We’re delighted to go dog-friendly and welcome owners and their well-behaved four-legged companions into the centre for the first time, as well as in several of our stores.

“To celebrate this, we’re excited to host a pup-tastic event for all pooches. Whether it’s zooming around the agility course or enjoying a well-earned refreshment at either Black Sheep Coffee or Brew Dog, we’re paw-sitive guests and their furry friends will have a great time.”
