Woman Seriously Injured in Wandsworth High Street Collision

A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a collision on Wandsworth High Street this Tuesday evening (7 July).
The police say that a van collided with two people, a male and a female, shortly before 4pm by the junction with Garratt Lane. They have described them as both pedestrians and cyclists in statements to the press. A third person was also injured during the collision. They were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. The woman’s condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
A police spokesperson said, "The driver of the van stopped at the scene. Enquiries in to the circumstances continue."
Wandsworth High Street was closed for two hours while police dealt with the incident leading to substantial traffic jams in the area.
