Driver of grey VW Polo in critical condition after vehicle hit by coach

A woman has died and another is in a critical condition after their car was in a collision with a coach in Battersea this Sunday morning (22 December). Both vehicles caught alight.

Their grey VW Polo was hit by a National Express coach shortly before 4.30am on Queenstown Road, SW11.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade attended the scene.

The rear seat passenger of the car, a 26-year-old woman, died at 5.06am.

The female driver of the vehicle was taken to a south London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Road closures remain in place.
