Seven fire engines and 35 firefighters involved

Seven fire engines and around 35 firefighters were called to a fire affecting three terraced houses on Alma Road on East Hill in Wandsworth on Wednesday night.

One house was badly damaged by fire. The house next door was slightly damaged by fire and the house on the other side was partly damaged by smoke. Two adults and three children escaped from the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene.

The Brigade was called at 22.50 and the fire was under control by 01.16. The cause of the blaze is under investigation but early indications point to it being an accidental electrical fire.
