Has Spring Finally Sprung In Time For Easter?

Battersea Park's Winter Garden is in bloom

Despite the cold weather, flowering Daffodils have managed to bring some springtime colour to Battersea Park – just in time for Easter.

The Council oversaw the planting of 100,000 spring bulbs across its parks and green spaces last October, and many are finally beginning to flower.

This is no more evident than in Battersea Park's Winter Garden, which opened two years ago after The Friends of Battersea Park raised £150,000 to create a living memorial to Elaine Hodges OBE - one of the founding members of the organisation.

Over the course of 2012 more than 200,000 bulbs, shrubs and perennials were planted in Wandsworth, along with more than 820 trees.
