Mobile winter wonderland comes to Lavender Hill
This Christmas, locals are invited to see a giant, inflatable snow globe in one of five locations around Wandsworth. The globe will set out on a mini tour around Battersea, starting on 24th November and ending on 6th December.
The impressive giant globe has ‘snow’ swishing around inside,giving youngsters a chance to be a part of a winter wonderland. The globe will spend half a day in each of the five destinations and comes fully equipped with resident snowman. Visitors are invited to step inside the snowy scene, to have your taken, printed and framed for just £5.
The snow globe tour starts on Thursday 24th November in St John’s Road from 12-4pm to help kick start the yuletide shopping in the town centre and get everyone in a merry mood. Next stop is Battersea High Street on Saturday 26th November, where the giant globe will be joining the Christmas market and Santa’s grotto, all happening from 11am until 4pm. This is the perfect location to stop and enjoy some tasty mulled wine and mince pies, whilst the little ones tell Santa what they are hoping for this year.
The globe then continues its tour with a visit to St John’s Hill on Saturday 3rd December, from 1-5pm where it will accompany a gospel choir and a well-known face will switch on the Christmas lights along the 'street of 1000 trees'. The ASDA store on Lavender Hill will see the globe visit on Sunday 4th December, where it will be open from 12-4pm, before finishing the tour in Battersea Square on the 6th December, with carol singing and the big Christmas tree switch-on from 4.30-8.30pm.
