Fatal Traffic Collision - Appeal For Witnesses


Motorcyclist pronounced dead at the scene

Police are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Mitcham.

The incident happened in London Road, at the junction with Crusoe Road, shortly before 7.30am on 28th April, when a red Honda
motorcycle collided with a silver Mercedes 180cl.

The motorcyclist, a man aged 53, came off the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Next of kin are aware, but formal identification is yet to take place. The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Hampton Traffic Garage are
investigating this collision and would like to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
