Be Part Of The Diamond Jubilee Capsule

Local MP asks residents for videos, photos and text

Jane Ellison, MP for Battersea, Balham and Wandsworth, would like residents in the constituency to take part in creating a lasting memory of the Diamond Jubilee year.

“People across the Commonwealth are being invited to share their stories of the last 60 years to create a digital Diamond Jubilee gift for Her Majesty The Queen. I would encourage members of the public to contribute videos, photos and text about a memorable day between 6th February 1952 and 6th June 2012. The best entries to www.jubileetimecapsule.org are eligible for prizes and will be presented to The Queen later this year. All valid entries will be ‘locked’ into an online time capsule preserved in perpetuity as a digital legacy of the Diamond Jubilee.

"Across the world – from schoolchildren in Pakistan to Chelsea Pensioners in the UK – 23,000 entries have already been received. Let’s put Battersea on the digital map for the Diamond Jubilee!

"If members of the public feel they would like to copy their entries to me, I will try and feature some of them on my website. Please email them to jane.ellison.mp@parliament.uk, with Diamond Jubilee in the subject line, and include your full name and address.”
