Local Community Project Grants Available

Apply now if you promote arts, sport, heritage or festivals

Voluntary and community groups can apply for funding from Wandsworth Councill to boost local projects that promote arts, sport, heritage and festivals.

The next deadline for Wandsworth Cultural Wealth Fund applications
is Monday 27 June.

The aim of the scheme is to provide financial help to groups that enrich cultural opportunities and activities in the borough.

Last year almost 30,000 local people were involved in projects and events that were funded by the scheme. These ranged from neighbourhood festivals and town centre carnivals to theatrical performances, concerts, poetry readings, and sports tournaments.

The council will fund up to half the cost of these events and projects, up to a maximum grant of £5,000.

Wandsworth Council’s environment and culture spokesman Cllr Jonathan Cook said: “This scheme is helping to widen the breadth of cultural activities and community events taking place across the borough.

“The opportunities it creates are improving and enriching people’s lives and bringing them closer together with their neighbours and like minded people from throughout the community.  If you or your organisation is thinking of setting up a local initiative then we are very keen to hear about.”
