Mother Admits In Court To Smothering Her Children To Death

Felicia Boots pleaded manslaughter at The Old Bailey yesterday

Felicia Boots of Killarney Road, SW18 yesterday admitted to suffocating her 14-month-old daughter Lily and 10-week-old son Mason at the family home, while suffering from post-natal depression

She gave a plea of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at the Old Bailey yesterday morning.

Murder charges were dropped and she was detained under the mental health act.

The Old Bailey heard that her husband, investment banker Jeffrey Boots, discovered the children's bodies when he came home from work on May 9.

Boots was reported to have been diagnosed with postnatal depression following the births of both children, but appeared to be getting better before the incident.
