Wandsworth Park Cafe Destroyed By Fire
Fire Brigade Investigating devastating blaze
The Culture Cafe, on the site of the old Bowling Pavillion in Wandsworth Park, has been wrecked in a blaze in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Fire Brigades from Wandsworth, Fulham, Battersea and Hammersmith fought the fire, and arrived at the scene at 0.38 on Sunday morning. The blaze was under control by 01.53am.
About 30 per cent of the cafe has been destroyed according to firefighters.
The Culture Café is a much-love local spot for refreshments. On learning of the fire, local SW18 resident Matthew Taylor says:
“This is shocking news. I often take my children down to play in the park and always visit the café for drinks and snacks.”
London Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of the fire.
