Volunteers Make Unusual Find During River Wandle Clean-Up

Model chef and scooter pulled from water

Volunteers working for The Wandle Trust pulled out a motorbike as well as a model of a chef during their latest River Wandle clean-up.

The Trust organises community clean-ups of the River Wandle on the second Sunday of every month, rotating between the boroughs of Wandsworth, Merton and Sutton.

The most recent one took place last Sunday (April 10th) in Earlsfield on the Rufus Industrial Estate, between Garratt Lane and Durnsford Road.

Their next clean-up takes place on Sunday May 8th, with the venue to be confirmed.
It is dirty work, so the organisers recommend volunteers wear old clothes and sturdy footwear such as walking boots or wellies, and bring a bring a change of clothes in case they get very wet.

Maybe they'll recover something like these items (picture below from @Bella_SERivers) again?
