Tara Theatre Schools Programme Wins Tesco 'Bags Of Help' Grant
Earlsfield theatre now needs your vote to secure extra funds
Tara Arts has announced it's in the customer vote for a Bags of Help grant from Tesco.
Tesco's community funding scheme gives local projects grants of up to £4,000 - all raised from the sales of Tesco carrier bags in Tesco stores. Tara has been chosen as one of the three charities in the local area who will receive a grant and now it is down to the public vote to see who should receive the most funding.

Throughout November and December residents will be able to cast your vote in 12 local Tesco stores across South West London. The more vote Tara gets, the more funding they will receive for the Tara Theatre Schools Programme.
The grant will provide free theatre workshops and performances of ‘Three Sat Under the Banyan Tree’ at Tara Theatre for local 7–11 year olds and their families. Multicultural stories take centre stage at Tara Theatre and these workshops will explore themes around friendship and bullying inspired by tales that are often described as ‘India’s Aesop’s Fables’.
With these grants we can provide free access to young people who are usually excluded from arts participation for socio-economic reasons and help build confidence, team work and an understanding of how stories can connect across different cultures, communities and generations.

To vote for Tara Arts all you need to do is make a purchase of any value at any participating Tesco store. You do not need to purchase a carrier bag to receive a token. You will receive one token per transaction which you can then use to vote for either Tara Arts or one of the other two charities. From Thursday 1st November to Monday 31st December 2018 you can cast your votes. The prizes will be awarded in January 2019.
