Take part in decorating construction hoardings
‘Investment Avenues’ is a participatory project by artist duo Lloyd Corporation, inviting gallery visitors, local community groups and residents to explore different perspectives on value, exchange and investment operating in the local area.
Lloyd Corporation will use construction hoardings as a subject, site and material. A common sight in London, hoardings are rich sites of cultural, social, economic, political and aesthetic production. They act as secure boundaries between public and private land, physical screens of advertising images and projected futures, as well as sites of protest, graffiti and other mark making.
Constructing a hoarding in Pump House Gallery’s Project Space, Lloyd Corporation invite visitors to make hands-on interventions in response to a number of prompts. Through writing and drawing the hoarding aims to gather layers of mark making over the duration of the project. Off-site and in collaboration with local community groups, Lloyd Corporation will also initiate a film-making project, working with residents to document and voice their perspectives on the developing landscapes and future investments in their area.
Lloyd Corporationis a duo - Sebastain Lloyd Rees and Ali Eisa - who met while studying at Goldsmiths. They have been collaborating for several years, making work that often draws on the breakdown of financial structures that started with the last crash.
The project runs from 3 October – 16 December 2018

Gallery of the Street
Workshop for all ages with artist duo Lloyd Corporation
Sunday 25 November 2018, 12 – 4pm
Property developers are increasingly turning construction hoardings into graffiti and mural paintings, often appealing to youth and ‘urban’ or ‘street’ culture, as well as aiming to represent local people. Drop in to this workshop for all ages as we work on a large scale and play with spray paints to create our own mural and hoarding artworks. Taking inspiration from the history of community murals in Battersea, which explored urgent social and political issues, the workshop will use graffiti and other mark making to create our own visual images representing shared values and social change.
This workshop has been designed by artist duo Lloyd Corporation as part the project 'Investment Avenues', which has been working with local groups to explore perspectives on value, exchange and investment in the local area.
This free workshop is suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
