100 Peabody Shared Ownership Homes For Wandsworth

In three developments across the borough

Peabody is on course to launch three shared ownership developments in Wandsworth in the coming weeks as the borough’s affordable home building rate continues to rise.

Peabody’s Wandsworth developments are:

  • Elmwood Court, Battersea Park Road SW11 – 10 shared ownership homes and 12 affordable rent. Available from March 2015.
  • Chancery Building, Nine Elms SW8 – 98 shared ownership homes. Available from April 2015.
  • Carters Yard, Wandsworth High Street SW18 – 4 shared ownership and 15 affordable rent. Available from May 2015.

Peabody is also part-way through the redevelopment of its St John’s Hill estate, near Clapham Junction station, which is creating another 221 new affordable rent homes, 58 shared ownership and 249 properties for private sale.

Wandsworth Council has confirmed that existing borough residents are at the front of the queue for all new affordable housing built in the area.

Local residents who are considering buying their first home are advised to register with the town hall’s dedicated homeownership team who will explain the options available and eligibility.

Across Wandsworth there are currently more than 100 shared ownership homes available and another 230 are on course for completion over the next year. The increase is being driven by major regeneration sites in Nine Elms and Wandsworth Town which are now delivering their affordable housing commitments.

Andrew Peglau, Marketing Manager at Peabody said, "We are delighted to be able to provide four new developments across Wandsworth, in popular areas like Battersea, Nine Elms and Wandsworth Town.  With more than 100 homes available for Shared Ownership we are helping local people achieve their dream of home ownership within the borough.”

Wandsworth’s housing spokesman Paul Ellis said, "Peabody is on course to deliver over 100 new shared ownership homes in the next few months including schemes in our two biggest regeneration areas – Nine Elms and Wandsworth Town. This is great news for low and middle income households who need help to get on the housing ladder."
