After an 18-year-old was stabbed to death on Deeside Road
A 17-year-old boy from Merton and 18-year-old Mohammed Nadir Dafallah from Wandsworth were charged on Sunday (16 June) with the murder of an 18-year-old man in Earlsfield.
The victim was stabbed on Deeside Road on Friday afternoon (14 June).
Both males charged will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court this week.
Four other people – aged between 16 and 19 years old – have been released under investigation.
Police were called to Deeside Road at just before 4.45pm on Friday following reports of a stabbing. An 18-year-old was found at the scene in a critical condition and died a short time later. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, his next of kin have been informed.
A post mortem was held at St George's on Sunday.
Superintendent Richard Smith from the South West Command Unit said, "A young man has died in the most tragic of circumstances and our thoughts remain with his family... I would urge those who witnessed the incident, but who have yet to speak with officers, to please come forward and provide us with any information that you can."
An incident room is open under the Homicide and Major Crime Command as enquiries continue and officers from the South West Command Unit will continue to patrol the area and be on hand to speak with local residents as the investigation continues.
