Local MPs Open Wandsworth’s Newest Crown Post Office

'Great new services for our constituents'

Battersea MP Jane Ellison and Justine Greening, MP for Putney, joined staff and customers to celebrate the official opening of the new Crown Post Office in Wandsworth High Street on the border of both constituencies.

Jane and Justine cut the Post Office ribbon in Wandsworth High Street

After cutting the ribbon Jane said:
“This is a great new service for people in both my constituency and Justine’s. We’re very supportive of this move and are pleased to be able to share this special day with both the Wandsworth Post Office team and its customers." Revisiting her previous retail career Jane also had a go behind the counter serving Justine with some foreign currency!

Justine added:
“We’d like to thank the team for having us here today. This brighter, more modern Post Office will give them the perfect platform to provide important services for the surrounding communities now and into the future.”

The new-look Wandsworth Crown Post Office, located on Wandsworth High Street, offers customers a wide range of Post Office services with longer opening hours than previously available. The branch has two entrances, one on the High Street and one backing onto Ram Street. Improved accessibility has been built in with automatic doors, and a low-level writing desk and space for wheelchair users.

It has a total of seven counter positions, as well as two new self-service kiosks, a dedicated mail acceptance point and a private consultation room in which customers can discuss financial services and other products with specialist staff.

The Wandsworth Crown Post Office opens from 08:30-18:00 on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 09:00-17:30 Wednesday to Saturday.
