Police investigating a fatal shooting in Battersea last year have charged a man after extraditing him from Denmark.

22-year-old Anis Fouad Hemissi, a Swedish National, was returned to the UK this Monday morning following his arrest at Copenhagen Airport on 20 January under a European Arrest Warrant.

In addition to murder, Mr Hemissi was also charged with possession of a firearm. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 9 June.

36-year-old Flamur Beqiri, a Swedish national of Albanian origin who lived in the Battersea area for over four years was returning home after an evening out with his family, including his young wife and child when he was shot multiple times on Battersea Church Road.

At the time police believed this may have been a targeted attack and said they were looking into the possibility that Mr Beqiri may have been involved in ‘some criminality in Sweden’. They were liaising with Swedish police to see if this had led to someone seeking retribution against him in the UK.

Mr Beqiri is the brother of former Real Housewives Of Cheshire star Misse Beqiri.
