Two suffered serious head injuries after being hit by tree

Three nine-year-old boys were hurt this afternoon in Wandsworth (16th June) after being hit by a tree that was brought down by high winds.

A police spokesperson said that the boys were waiting in line for their turn at cricket nets at the Spencer Club cricket ground in Fieldview, Earlsfield. Two of the boys are reported to have serious head injuries. A third boy has suffered leg injuries.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 3.45pm to Fieldview in Earlsfield to reports of a tree that had fallen on some children.

"We sent the London Air Ambulance, three ambulance crews, two single responders in cars and two duty officers.”

The boys have been taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting with two of them described as being in a serious condition . The other is described as ‘walking wounded’.
