Richard Tracey urges Wandsworth residents to have their say
Wandsworth London Assembly Member, Richard Tracey, has supported plans to extend the Northern Line to Battersea and has urged Wandsworth residents get involved with the public consulation that is now underway .
Transport for London and Treasury Holdings, the developer of Battersea Power Station, are to hold a number of public events to give local people the opportunity to share their views on the proposed Northern line extension and planned new stations at Nine Elms and Battersea.
The route would be a 3km spur from the existing branch of the Northern line from Kennington.
Mr Tracey says,
“The extension of the Northern line is vital to the redevelopment of Battersea and Nine Elms, so the opening of this consultation marks an exciting time and I urge every resident to get involved.
“I think the route that has been chosen is the right one. By putting the Nine Elms station to the south it is close to current housing and can benefit the existing community, as well as supporting new development.”
The consultation runs until June 17th. TfL and Treasury Holdings are hosting exhibitions for local residents about the Northern line extension on the following dates:
