Wandsworth Radio Broadcasts Live From Edinburgh Fringe

"Wandsworth is no ordinary London borough when it comes to performance art"

Community radio station Wandsworth Radio has encountered a problem - half of its presentation team have decamped to the Scottish capital for a month as they take part in the world famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Station director Jason Rosam said: "I was amazed so many of our presenters said they needed the whole of August off as they were putting on shows at the Fringe. I then discovered how many other talented people from Wandsworth were also making the trip. Wandsworth is no ordinary London borough when it comes to performance art. We are so lucky to have so many brilliant venues like the Battersea Arts Centre, Putney Arts Theatre and Tara Arts in Earlsfield as well as a string of comedy nights in our local pubs, bars, clubs and other performance venues."

Wandsworth Radio presenters Maddy Anholt, Sam Baines, Al Cowie, Jay Alexandra Bennet, Simon Lukacs, Hollie Would and The Anti-Duhring Battalion Show are all performing at various venues at the fringe and to celebrate Wandsworth's brilliance as a hub for performers Wandsworth Radio are travelling up to Edinburgh to broadcast a LIVE show from the Fringe. A team of five volunteers from the station, including Arts Editor Lesley Strachan and Head of Music Matt Tunstill, will arrive in Edinburgh next week to view as many Wandsworth linked performances as possible.

The production team has been busy trying to gather all the acts and performers who are connected to Wandsworth to feature on the special LIVE outside broadcast next Thursday 13th August at 7pm. It will be the first programme on Wandsworth Radio to come from outside the borough. Wandsworth residents will be able to Listen to the show LIVE on WandsworthRadio.com or on the mobile app TuneIn for all smart phones, just search for Wandsworth Radio.
