Wandsworth Community Radio Needs You

To help launch the station through crowdfunding

Wandsworth Radio needs to raise over £3,000 to buy broadcast equipment and begin to build its studio in Battersea.

Wandsworth’s first community radio station has been pod-casting local news reports made by volunteer journalists for the last three months online, and planning locally-made radio programmes for the past year.

The amount raised through crowdfunder.co.uk/wandsworthradio will be used to buy studio equipment and fund the setting up of its new studio which is above the Wandsworth Oasis Charity shop on Battersea Park Road.

BBC London 94.9 Radio Presenter Jason Rosam who’s helping volunteers from across Wandsworth to set up the station said: “I believe Wandsworth Radio is a great project that will benefit volunteers and people from across the borough. It will celebrate our incredible part of London, provide opportunities for those who want to build a career in the media and foster relationships between our diverse communities. The amount of money we are hoping to raise through crowdfunding will enable us to purchase more equipment and to build our studio in the heart of Battersea”

Wandsworth Radio are offering some great rewards, for individuals and local businesses who donate to the studio fund, including free sponsorship and advertising opportunities on air and online, an invite to the launch event, trips to the radio studio and music requests.
