14 acts to battle it out on December 10th
The X-Factor-esque contest – aimed at young people in the borough aged between 14 and 19 – culminates in a showcase event at the town hall on December 10.
It promises to be a vibrant spectacle featuring young talent from all over Wandsworth. This year the line-up includes singers, dancers, beat boxers, bands, and musicians.
Finalists have been selected from a series of auditions, which took place in schools and youth clubs across the borough in recent weeks.
They have been given creative development help by arts professionals at Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) and will be given support with their final performances by event producer Bigga Fish.
Youngsters in the borough have also been given opportunities behind the scenes under the guidance of Bigga Fish. They were taught about event promotion and ticket sales, artist liaison, event production and marketing – with the event programme cover created by a talented young graphic designer.
The entertainment-packed show will be hosted by Channel AKA's resident comedian Jazzie, alongside popular presenter Claira.
Special guest on the night will be Josh Osho, who won the Young Performer title in 2006 and has since gone on to launch his own career as a singer songwriter, collaborating most recently with American rapper Ghostface Killa and producer RZA.
