The council's executive member for community safety Cllr James Cousins said: "If you are planning a night out in Tooting, Putney or Clapham Junction then these free guides are really worth having, especially if you are a little unfamiliar with these town centres.
"As well as containing very important tips on staying safe, they contain a wealth of very practical information on buses, cabs and trains.
"There is nothing worse than being stranded somewhere after an enjoyable night out, unsure of how you are going to get home. These guides can help you find a safe and quick method of transport back to your front door."
The pocket guides are available from local libraries and from bars, pubs and other licensed premises in Wandsworth. To order copies visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/stan. For more information about the Cabwise scheme visit www.cabwise.com.
