General Election Candidates For Wandsworth Announced

Nominations have now closed for the Parliamentary election taking place on Thursday May 7th and the Earlsfield by-election taking place on the same day.

Details about who is standing for election can be found on the council's website.

Residents will go to the polls to elect a Member of Parliament for each of the three borough constituencies - Battersea, Putney and Tooting.  Residents in Earlsfield will also elect a councillor to represent their ward on Wandsworth Borough Council following the recent death of Cllr Adrian Knowles.

Poll cards were delivered to registered residents over the Easter weekend. Anyone who did not receive a poll card should contact electoral services.

There is still time to register to vote, but you must apply by midnight April 20th. British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens are eligible to vote in Parliamentary elections. 

European Union citizens living in the Earlsfield ward will be eligible to vote in this election only.  You can now register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

If you want to request a postal vote, you must send in a completed application form by 5pm on April 21st.  You can download an application form from www.wandsworth.gov.uk/vote.
