Singer-Songwriter To Help Local People In Crisis

Stuart Townend in festive concert for Wandsworth Foodbank

On Friday 13 December, Wandsworth Foodbank will welcome singer-songwriter Stuart Townend for a Christmas evening of music, mulled wine and mince pies.

Stuart, whose song In Christ Alone was recently voted second most popular hymn on Songs of Praise, heard about Wandsworth Foodbank’s work and offered to hold a concert to help raise funds in support of the Foodbank’s work helping local people in crisis.

Stuart says: 'As Christians we're called to help and support the most vulnerable in our society, and the foodbank is a practical way we can do this. I'm privileged to be able to be involved in helping to raise money for this worthy cause.'

There are still a few tickets available at £10 each which can be purchased online at www.wandsworth.foodbank.org.uk or from St Mark’s Church, Battersea Rise SW11 1EJ. Half of the ticket price will go directly to helping Wandsworth Borough residents needing emergency food help.

Since it opened in May this year, Wandsworth Foodbank has provided emergency food and support to nearly 1300 local people in crisis, including more than 500 children.
