Elections for the Mayor of London and the London Assembly will be held on Thursday, May 3 and anyone wishing to vote that day who is not already registered to do so has one month left to complete and return a registration form.

People who returned their voter registration forms to the town hall when asked to do so during last autumn’s annual canvass should already be on the register of electors.

However those who did not respond or have either just moved to the borough, or recently changed addresses within Wandsworth – will need to register before April’s deadline if they wish to vote that day.

The same April 18 deadline also applies to anyone who wants to cancel an existing postal vote or proxy facility. To do this you must provide a signed letter stating that you no longer wish to vote in this way.

Poll cards will be hand delivered to all eligible voters by Sunday, March 25, apart from those who reside in Southfields Ward who will receive their poll cards a week later. This is due to the forthcoming Southfields by-election taking place on Thursday, March 29. Eligible Southfields residents will receive their poll cards for the Mayoral and GLA elections by Sunday, April 1.

People eligible to vote in the elections being held on May 3 are people born in this country, along with citizens of qualifying Commonwealth countries, plus those from the European Union and British overseas territories.
