Hourly Week Day River Bus Service Introduced at Local Piers
Putney, Wandsworth Riverside and Chelsea Harbour added to the timetable

River Bus services at local piers into central London have now been extended through the week.
Launched in time for Spring, extensions to Uber Boat by Thames Clippers’ weekday RB6 route now offer river travel for Putney, Wandsworth Riverside Quarter, Plantation Wharf and Chelsea Harbour piers passengers on an hourly basis all day.
The introduction of an hourly off-peak daytime service stopping at on weekdays creates a direct connection between the west and east zones via central London during the day. These changes follow last summer’s expansion of weekend sailings, which provide regular services from Chelsea Harbour, Wandsworth Riverside Quarter, and Putney piers on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
The new services were introduced as demand for river travel increases. In 2023, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers served over 5 million journeys.
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers’ latest additions to its fleet, the hybrid Earth Clipper and Celestial Clipper, have increased the River Bus capacity by over 450 seats. Europe’s first hybrid high speed passenger ferries, built to the High-Speed Craft Code, will be joined by a third hybrid vessel, Mars Clipper, later this spring, increasing capacity by an additional 230. Together, the UK’s first hybrid passenger ferries offer zero tail pipe emissions in central London and when outside of the centre, each provide a 90 per cent reduction in CO2e compared with running solely on conventional marine diesel.

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers serves commuters and leisure passengers alike and monthly and annual season tickets are available. River Roamer tickets provide a hop-on hop-off service for those visiting attractions throughout London. An All-Zones River Roamer, which offers 2 adults and up to 3 children (15 and under) a day’s unlimited use of the River Bus, is available for just £44.20.
