Editor of WandsworthSW18.com popped in to see the newest office space in the SW15/SW18 area
Third Door was launched today and when NeighbourNet's latest editor Louise popped in she found that the
spacious and well-equipped crèche on the ground floor was already up and
running with journalists' offspring, while upstairs the calm and beautifully
decorated work areas were all set to go. Yusuf Chadun explained that they
have also risk assessed the short walk to neighbouring Wandsworth Park, so
that the kids could be taken over for some fresh air.
Flexible office space with on-site childcare is now being offered at Third
Door in Point Pleasant. The Putney/ Wandsworth borders facility claims to be
the first site of its kind in the UK, providing Wi-Fi-enabled hot desks and
meeting rooms as well as an OFSTED registered crèche.
Third Door is run by husband and wife team Shazia Mustafa and Yusuf Chadun,
who are also parents to two small children. They are keen to stress the
flexibility of Third Door's set-up. Parents can book a workspace in advance, but can also check availability on the day if they have a last minute
childcare emergency. The crèche, which follows EYFS (Early Years Foundation
Stage) guidelines, caters for children of up to eight years old.
Youngsters are kept occupied downstairs while parents work upstairs, where
there are desks, small and large meeting rooms, a lounge area, kitchen area
and booths for private phone conversations. The crèche promises consistent
staff for familiarity and is fully equipped with cots for naps, toilets and
snack facilities as well as plenty of play material. Parents can pop down to
feed, eat with, or simply see their children in the communal family area.
Payment is either part of a pay-as-you-go or monthly membership. There is a
joining fee, but this will be waived for the first 30 to sign up. The
various payment packages depend on frequency of use, and start at £18 per
hour for a fully inclusive service.
