To Shave Or Not To Shave? That Is The Question

Alex Polizzi risks her curls to raise £100,000 for Royal Trinity Hospice

Alex Polizzi, Channel 5’s Hotel Inspector, is aiming to raise £100,000 for Royal Trinity Hospice by asking the public to decide whether she should KEEP or SHAVE her lovely curly hair. The public will have a month (until Saturday 19th November 2016) to vote by making a donation to Trinity, with the winning vote judged by the highest amount raised.

Known not only for salvaging some of Britain's worst-run hotels and B&Bs but also for her distinctive spiraling curls, Alex has been supporting Royal Trinity Hospice for three years. This year marks Trinity’s 125th Anniversary year and Alex will be hosting the charity’s 125 Anniversary Ball in November where the winning vote shall be announced.

Alex said “I have chosen to put my hair on the line because I wanted to support Royal Trinity Hospice, a charity which is local to me and one I am extremely passionate about. It provides a lifeline to 1500 people a year with advanced illnesses, helping them make the most of every moment.

I went in three years ago and was amazed at the beautiful, tranquil surroundings and the cheerful, positive atmosphere that it transmits. I really hope the public will donate whatever they can so we can help this amazing charity continue to be there for everyone who needs them.”

Dallas Pounds, Chief Executive of Royal Trinity Hospice, said:
“We really appreciate the dedication Alex Polizzi has shown towards supporting us here at Trinity. Not only will casting a vote determine what will happen to Alex’s lovely curls but it will also help us raise the money we need to continue to provide expert end of life care in our community. So now it’s over to the public to decide what the outcome will be…”
As a charity, Trinity receives less than a third of their funding from the NHS, so they rely on the generosity of their supporters to continue their work. Trinity must raise £9 million every year to ensure they can provide services free of charge to people with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones in the community. All of the money raised from Alex Polizzi’s fundraiser will enable Royal Trinity Hospice to continue to provide this vital care and support.

You can vote now by making a donation to Trinity. If you would like Alex to KEEP her curls donate here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/keepthecurls or for Alex to SHAVE her curls donate here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/shavethecurls.
