RHN Care Centre Honoured in Local Design Awards

Commendation for the quality of its design and its accessibility

The awards from Wandsworth Council were presented to Director of Facilities, Philip Palethorpe, during a special ceremony held at the RHN on Thursday 4th March.

The decision was made by a specially selected panel consisting of local people with an interest in design, with the aim of giving landmark local development projects, which might otherwise have been overlooked by national award schemes, public recognition.

The two design awards included: formal recognition of the “high standard of restoration of the façade of this grade II listed building” and “a welcome improvement to the landscape setting of the grade II listed building”.

The RHN was further awarded with a commendation for upgrading the centre to provide disabled access to all parts of the premises.

Philip Palethorpe, Director of Facilities for the RHN, said, “I am immensely proud of the RHN and the high quality of care provided to each and every one of our Patients and Residents. A warm, welcoming and well maintained environment in which to pursue their interests and lead their lives is a vital part of this care.”
