Witness Appeal To GBH outside Wandsworth Town Hall
Police are currently investigating a serious assault on a Wandsworth Bus driver who may as a result lose sight to one of his eyes.
On 1st February 2009 at approximately 23:30 hours a route 37 bus approached and stopped at the bus stop on Fairfield Street / Fairfield Drive opposite the Town Hall in Wandsworth.
The driver got out of the bus to clear snow from his windscreen and mirror when a he was attacked by several males after a snowball was thrown at him, knocking him to the ground where he received several blows to the head in the scuffle.
As a result of the attack the drivers eye was knocked from its socket and subsequent surgery has yet to confirm loss of sight.
