low platforms at Wandsworth Town Station

Having as a result of illness had to give up cycling to work and use the train I was surprised at how difficult it is to climb onto trains at platform 4 and drop down from them to platform 1.After all the work and money spent to create the new entrance I cannot understand why nothing has been done to make this station accessible on all four platforms.

I half remember reading that the station platform will be extended and the line is getting new rolling stock and trains with more carriages to cope with overcrowding. It may be that this will solve the issue with platforms.
