St Ann's COE Primary School

Hi,Like many parents, this week we found out which school our child has been placed for reception this September. Also, like many parents, we didn't get in to any of our chosen schools.We have been offered a place at St Ann's primary school and I have been searching the net trying to find reviews of the school but cannot find anything. Does anyone on this forum's children go to St Ann's? If so, please can you give me your opinions & thoughts about the school?Thanks

OFSTED report scores just tell you how good the school is at doing OFSTED inspections and can be very misleading about the actual quality of the school. There is one school I am aware of that was rated Outstanding which seems very disfunctional according to people on the inside. Inspectors are there for a few days, parents are there for years so always go with the view of parents.

Thank you, we were offered a place based on location and I have to admit, it was due to the previous years performance results that I didn't apply to the school.  The Ofsted report is "Good", but us parents only want the best for our children and I had only applied to Ofsted "Outstanding" schools.I'm just interested to find out the honest opinions and reviews from parents that have children there.

My children didn't go there but I have friends whose did and they have all been very happy. They were slightly surprised that you got in when the school wasn't your first choice as in previous years it has been over-subscribed. Apparently last year's SATs results weren't that great but the intake for the year was of a much lower ability level than normal. This seems to have put off people who only look at exam league tables from applying to the school. It could be that you have been really fortunate.
