What does anyone think of the £8 entrance fee for the new Wandsworth museum?

I found it funny that Edward Lister was a guest of honour at the opening of the new museum

Treasurer of The Friends of Wandsworth Museum, Jonathon Callaway, has made some very interesting comments about the entrance charge on our sister site putneysw15.com. Concessions will be £6 and it is not a large museum and many of us have donated gifts to it.It was a free museum but the council in their wisdom decided to close it. Many of us protested but to no avail

Hi Jean,£8 does sound high to me...but the local paper says that there will be reducted admission charges for senior citizens (I presume!)""The Wandsworth Museum is open every day of the week except Monday, from 10am to 5pm. Adult pay £8 but ticking a Gift Aid donation box upon entry means repeat visits will be free. Concessions are also offered""That could mean say £5 for the whole year!!
