If you’re an artist, maker, or creative business owner and think you could benefit from some extra support and networking opportunities during the pandemic, the free Re:Create 2021 support programme could be of benefit.

Re:Create 2021 will provide free, tailored one-to-one business support for fifty local artists, makers and creative businesses in the borough, plus three connection-making networking events open to all.

It’s a new programme designed by Creative United, a community interest company committed to supporting the growth and development of the arts and creative industries, and is delivered in partnership with Wandsworth Council and Hive Collective, a London-based creative business network.

Given current COVID-19 restrictions, the programme will be delivered online, and will take place from March to June 2021.

The chosen applicants will each receive three hours of free one-to-one advice and support from a business advisor working within the arts or creative industries.
Additional Networking Events will provide opportunities for participants to hear from successful sector leaders, connect and network with each other and find those crucial partnerships and collaborations for 2021 and beyond.

Those who join the programme can expect to gain:
• a better understanding of creating a business plan, marketing plan, or cash flow forecast
• a better understanding of setting business and professional goals
• increased confidence and skills, particularly in response to…
• post-COVID planning
• improved business viability/sustainability
• increased earnings/business income
• improved connectivity to creative/local networks and new collaborations or partnerships

If you apply for the programme, Creative United will take a look at your particular need for business support or the extent of the current challenges you are facing, so it helps if the you clearly describe your current issues, or areas where you need help developing business skills or confidence.
They are also keen to understand why now is the right time for support – particularly where it might mean tackling challenges brought about by Covid-19.
The organisers will also look at what outcomes or change is sought by your business. Successful applications will be those where it’s clear that the three hours of one-to-one support, coupled with the networking events will help make a positive difference.

The programme is funded by Wandsworth Council. Check here to find out if you’re eligible and reserve your place by Sunday 28 February 2021.
